We have a new Fiber Arts Studio
At our June board meeting priorities were set for getting the studio ready for use. The most important first step is moving the looms. They will be placed in their new home soon. New shelving for supplies is to be installed, the library will be organized and space will be arranged to accommodate new uses of the studio. The next item of importance, a summer weaving class, will begin on July 30. Thank you Betsy Abrams for teaching Rag Rugs. A beginning weaving class will follow at the end of September. Finally, a committee has been set up to write policies, procedures and guidelines for use of the studio. Members will then have a way to propose new classes, arrange loom rental or use the space for fiber pursuits. Thank you to all members who have shared ideas and excitement for expanding our new Fiber Arts Studio and for your continued patience as things have taken a bit more time than first anticipated. We are on our way to a beautiful new space for our members.
